334 - 23.9.26 - 10: Autumnal Equinox

The half day and half night time of the year - the equinox. I almost missed it too. That's because nothing changes in Singapore, a mere one degree above the equator. It's the same all year round. In the depths of Irish winter, I would think to myself, somewhere, there are whole swathes of people walking around in t shirts and short because that's how it is all year long.

Anyway... yesterday it rained again - for several hours. I wonder if they cloud seeded without letting us know because my weather app basically said that this was not happening - rain. I really don't know what to expect here...

Here's my rant on FB today...

When you see the zodiac, not as a ZOO, but as an enshrining of the goddess in the skies, it is impossible to miss the symbolism of what our ancestors had encoded for us. In Sumerian-Western astronomy, Virgo is the largest constellation in the zodiac. She is preceded by Leo, the lion, the animal which accompanies the Sumerian goddess Inanna. Leo announces Virgo. Following Virgo, is Libra - the scales - it is also the time of the harvest. Closely associated with the scales is justice - equality - also associated with Michael the archangel. The harvest is to be distributed equally - we are to share, just before the privations of winter - the beginning of the dark times - the entering of the mystery, the sting of death, symbolised by Scorpio. There are lessons which our ancestors had learnt, which for some reason we have pathetically forgotten. The scales are tipping and we are beginning to see the results of the imbalance.

Are the tech bros and the politicians so impoverished, so devoid of any culture and depth, that they cannot be content with the beauty which surrounds us? That someone they must keep trying to empty and clear out our humanity for an automation which will possibly bring some efficiency but not much joy? Truly, I am unable to understand it.

Anyway, this month, we have equity enshrined in the heavens above us. The zodiac is a book in which so much wisdom can be read because it has been written over the millennia. The stars literally guide us, they remind us of what we are to do in each season. They are remarkably efficient way of reminding us of the miracle of being here, on Earth, and what we are to do, and how we are to live.
