Saturday chillin dues

So after a very turbulent two months, and one week, i have managed to have a semi normal Saturday. When i say semi normal, it was mostly normal, apart from the insane SPLURGE at the new Cath Kidston store where i bought an egg cup for Ghin, a keyring, wash roll and sunglasses case for myself. The latter three were all necessities. The first of the quatrain was just an indulgence, and cos it was the cutest egg cup EVER in the history of egg cups. So i emerged delighted and exhausted, not unlike the feeling after having a good boogie, or sex, and then went on to the rest of the day, and spent a lot of time unzipping and zipping my new spec case. It was fantabulous. I don't know what it is about Cath Kidston?? A past life thing. I was almost on my knees, weak with weakness, before the knitting bag. I have a few contenders for knitting bag, but really... that this bag said knitting made it special. Perhaps if i spent less time watching Ghost in the Shell and on FB i would actual...

Been so long, so long, so long...

For awhile at the start of the year, i listened to two Bowie tracks... Cat People and Absolute Beginners. Collectively they sort of summed up my life, where my life was currently. Then last week, we began a retreat looking at ourselves as cosmic beings and what that meant. I have slowly begun to discover two things... one is that life will unfold no matter what you do. And there is little point running around trying to sort things, because the big things will take place whether you want them to or not. It actually is MUCH better to be doing things slowly, leisurely and with pleasure and delight, instead of headless chickening it. It's better for everyone. And also you'll be able to react with some intelligence to the things being presented to you. It's like this conveyor belt we are on. Where we are free agents is how we react to these things. And how we define ourselves against the things that occur to us. And i have also discovered that self control is something which i...

Measure for Measure

What the heck is going on in Singapore?? Civil servants using online hookering services? It was very amusing when i brought this up with my mom. My mom is a truly wonderful collection of contradictions and wisdoms... and she said, well, what do you want to do... men are like that, they are bound to be doing this... especially if their wives are housewives and then they leave the house and the wife is still in her housecoat and the children are screaming and when they come home she is still cooking and the children are fighting... then they go to the office and there is sweet music and the girls are all dressed so nicely and smell so sweet... then hang on, like were we not discussing prostitution rings... yes but it is very common... what online vice rackets or affairs? Affairs... vice rackets... well... at that point i kinda gave up. She does have a point though. This has sort of existed since forever, so why bring it up now? Surely they will not be the first civil servants to visit ...

Life changes everyday

You know change happens all the time... sometimes quite rapidly, but mostly very incrementally, until one day you find that you are not the same person in the same circumstances at all. So as i sit here, having cleaned the house, hoovered and am in the midst of doing the second laundry load already this morning... sipping tea, i think, man i just quite can't believe where i am sometimes. When i sit and think, i really couldn't have predicted being on Belfast in my 41st year, with two sons and with the work i'm doing and the person who i am... so the question is, do we randomly end up in the places that we are, or did we at some level chose this, in this life or in our previous one? I'd like to think that some higher intelligence is at work, and because of that, i am learning to say, i trust you, i trust you, the Wisdom of the Universe, when things don't make sense. I trust you the Wisdom of the Universe, to deliver me, somehow safely, somehow deliver me gently int...

Oisin does broadsword

http://youtu.be/kFjKXKZDsMg Just to explain Peter did the music. I would have used the ballad of Wong Fei Hong... Anyway... here's the posting...

Pleeease mummy can go to Little Wing??

Image
The boys love Little Wing, hands down it is Oisin's favourite restaurant. Mostly because of the pizza, but the clincher are the icecream cones... it was actually our 14th anniversary, and i just decided to celebrate it with the boys because Peter was doing something else... last year i had reminded him, but he said that he needed to open the zen centre. In the end we did go, for sushi, but he lad to leave early after half an hour to open the zen centre anyway, and i had to pick up the tab, and take a taxi home. Well, so that was the end of celebrating anniversaries... but the boys had a great time with me... as you can see here... I am Ghin i love my food I am Oisin and i have amazing boen structure and look good in every photo... no idea where the boy gets it from

This is Bristol

Image
Well the trip to London was something else... not least because it ended in an unplanned stopover in Bristol. It began, the stopover, at 1030 at night when they annouced that the 915 flight would not be leave and we would now have to stay in Bristol overnight. There WAS a lot of cursing and swearing. I for one was too tired to curse and swear. I was however really really glad i did not bring the boys with me. We were, after an hour and a half, taken to the hotel and then... it began. The part when the curs became a blessing. When life gives you lemons... The hotel as a four-star Thistle, and the room were comfortable, the beds were as soft as freshly made bread and just as delicious. After a hot hot bath, i just got into it and fell fast asleep. I woke at 7 am, hade a leisurely breakfast and perfect coffee... and after completing my reading of Occult Science, wandered the streets of Bristol. As soon as i got out of the hotel, this is what i saw... the most exquisite alleyway of gra...

Oisin does Jing Wu Kung Fu

Image
Oisin was really good at this... and more comforting for me was how he was able to concentrate... i really had grave doubts about the Will forces in Oisin, but it was such a delight for me to see him for over an hour just give the sifu his full attention and to try his 110 per cent best at the class. He also has also obtained a sword and seems to weld it with some sort of magical amazing coordination. Today when i watched him i was thinking of how beautiful he was. I know i say such nice things about him in the blog... but i DO read the riot act every now and then and only last week he ended up crying when i read it to him for four misdemeanours. So here he is...
