Mom!

I have been sooooo tired over the last few days. Today i actually had to lie down to sleep at 10 am after dropping Peter off to work. It seems that my brain is now mostly filled with some soft squishy unintelligible material. It could be that i have been so busy over the last few weeks. Since school began, there had always been something. The kitchen, the grounds, the hedge. Oh the hedge. I never mentioned that did i? THE HEDGE. It is about 30 metres long and had about seven years overgrrowth on it. I do not know the technical term for the overgrowth - but what has happened is over the past seven years we did not cut it properly and as a result the bloody thing had become bushier and bushier. I decided that i would cut it myself this year. t took me three weeks. Three weeks with secetuers. A hack saw and occassionally the shears. Three weeks. A couple of hours a day. But i did it. It looks a bit chainsaw massacre like but i did save £200 which i put something towards bulbs. And next ye...

I never really documented Ghin's talking - but talk he has begun to do in ernest. Now when you call his name, Ghin! He says, Wot? In a diffident, nonplussed, you calling at me? manner. It's so funny that i call his name and when he says Wot i say Nothing. He has started speaking far earlier than Oisin did and he sings as well, his own songs. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a parallel universe hasn't really observed reality. I inhabit a few. There is the Steiner school parallel world. The grassroots parallel world. The Derry parallel world. And then there's the RSPB parallel world. Of course there's the Singapore parallel world which consists of several parallel worlds inside that parallel world itself. I briefly dipped into the grassroots parallel world on Friday at the Part...

Horse or/and rider?

Today i woke up and felt a bit blue. It was the usual blue feelings. Nothing out of the ordinary or unusual. Just a bit blah. And so the little tape recorder in the head clicked on. Let's face it, you'll never be appreciated, um...you'll never get breakfast in bed, what else? Yes, no one will ever say thanks for the great job you're doing, etc, etc... and then i thought i might cry...and i felt the tears prickling. And that's when another narrative entered ... equanimity. Equanimity. You are sad and you have balance. Sadness is part of the balance. And it was magical. Not only did i find i was able to let the sadness go, i also felt i was able to feel the sadness without fear, without limits. But i could see it, and not buckle under it. I was riding the sadness, not the other way round. I felt i go deep down, and i followed it deep down and marvelled at it. Appreciated it. I felt it's taste and colour and texture, and i felt how peaceful it was underneath it all...
