It has been a very long day. I have been writing reports and it has been tiring. I have fallen asleep twice because I am also not feeling great, but well, it has to be done. I have also been diagnosed with prediabetes. A little bit of it. The level they want to see you at is 42 and I am at 43. This mean no more sugar in anything and the serious cutting of carbs. That's not a bad thing really. In fact it is a relief. Although it is quite annoying I won't be able to have teh peng. No, it is not a bad thing. It is kinda hard to believe I will be 49 at the end of this year. It is so weird. Seeing Janet Nendrum It is hard to know where one thin begins and the other ends. I woke at 3 am and then tried to go back to sleep. Then got up at 5.30... and tried to drag myself out of bed. My mom asked me, where do you want your ashes scattered from now on? Uluwatu is gone... I said, I know. I don't think of myself as Asian anymore. It seems so sad though. I love Asia, I love Singapore when I return to it, but it isn't the Singapore I remember anymore, right? It is a Singapore which has changed so much - which has become so crowded that it is unrecognisable. It is no longer a countr...

#144 - Strangford Lough, fields of barley and Nendrum in the sunshine

It is impossible to argue with beauty Cow parsley and fields of wheat And that sky.... There is no more beautiful place  Early barley That green and that blue The Drumlins in the distance There is not a more beautiful nor perfect time of the year Changing every moment That road That light The silence of birds and breezes Low tide in Nendrum Across the waters Thousand year histories Just everything Be everything all the time What will be left of us is love As it was and ever shall be... World without end... Amen There is magic everywhere On a day like this... ... you can see it... Today I went driving in the early afternoon. I was very sad because I had discovered that the Harapan project no longer had funding from the Danish government and in all probability now, it was going to fold. It had never managed to beat the illegal loggers and oil palm settlers. How could it? And now... a roa...
