Being back in school was good. When you are with the kids it is all good. Yesterday I lay in bed and we tired, again. It is always the way though. always the way - back to school exhaustion. There are only nine more weeks though to get us through it all. The final push. I can't drink anymore. Alcohol I mean. I had a small amount over the weekend and it was not good. I just can't. It isn't nice anymore. I feel like it is completely pointless. I was talking to friends about what I am trying to do with my life. I have been thinking about the main impulse which drives me and which I want to bring into this world. Which I think is meaningful. I suppose that has always been the way I have worked and operated. What that impulse is has changed over time. The truth is that I want to write. But I have not really tended to this. Partly because I have been busy doing other things, partly because I have do discipline. So WRITE would be one. Over the course of this year, ...

School begins again - I cannot believe this is my seventh year in school. Yesterday I went for a walk in Belvoir Park Forest. It was so beautiful. Then I came home and did some digging. I made roast chicken for lunch with mash and veg. It was simple and good. It is going to be a horrible day - ran by the looks of it. The sky dark and threatening. Right - I need to stop dreaming. I have been on FB this past 45 minutes. Walking in Belvoir Park and going to the North Coast reminded me about why I needed to get out into nature. It has taken me an age to reconnect with it once again and I have been on this mad journey as I did it. Yesterday I also saw Jonathan and his wee baby and Gabriel and I was talking about the possibilities of what to do next. You can't follow the money, I said. You need to follow what you think is right - your heart and right now, my heart says there is a need to find a way back to nature in a spiritual way. To have all the science, to name all the be...

#114 - This is my Church

After the run I HAD to walk in the forest and connect with it in quiet. And take lots of photos. Carpark Cave Hill the Ancient Settlement Copper beech Amazing yew Frothy rowens Sunlit secrets Ramsons Streams and ferns Add caption Bluebells Fields of bluebells A quiet glade the road less travelled bubbling brook Lagan high The silence Where peace comes dropping slow Queen Anne's Lace or Cow Parsley oaks in the morning Beauty awakens Beeches reach to the heavens In the gloaming Light and earth Where magic lives and lies A path in the forest Anything is possible, remember? Ends and beginnings and vice versa And  bluebells are forever Oak and bluebells - it ever was and ever shall be A tree falls in the forest... ... and stays beautiful forever A moorhen trundles along like it is the end of the world and it is the only life left on this morning here ...

#113 - Dawn Chorus

It is the last days of the holiday already. And the light from the sunrise is amazing. If feels like I have got the hang of life. Tea, run, breakfast... all those things in between. Take a drive. Enjoy conversation. Have a good life, you know. It us a coolish late spring morning. I am busy getting things done for tomorrow today. And still something buzzes in my brain. The book has gotten no further. I was quite distracted back there for a bit. But I'm back on track. And there is something I have learned through doing the Tarot. That it is yet another expression of mankind's longing to unite with the divine. That it is our deepest wish to pierce beyond the surface, the maya of reality and find something which speaks to us about the beautiful and the sublime - to give us hope - to comfort us. However, through my many inquisitions, I am left with the conclusion that reality is spirituality. It is one and the same. It is utterly conjoined - when we perceive the world be...

'112 - Storm Hannah, Ballintoy, Ballycastle and Larne Lough

Ballintoy Harbour Oh to be in the middle of a storm, with the wind roaring around you and the sell of the sea blasting through the rocks. That's what happened today. I just wanted to take a drive to the North Coast in the middle of a gale - so that's what we did Ghin and I. And I downloaded my playlist of 112 songs on the iPad and off we went. Northern Ireland is an amazing place. We headed for Ballintoy - Ballintoy Harbour which is now full of GOT fans - so this will prob last for another couple of years - and then it will all die down. But most amazingly, it was Storm Hannah and we were bowled over. It was just utterly utterly amazing.  Nothing does this place any justice Ghin's face probably says it all It was totally wild Water was pouring in through every crack as the waves smashed against the rocks The coastline probably shifted a wee bit Foam exploding from the end of the pier The wind blew the waters into the harbour It was alm...
