Image
After effects of sun... Ghin 10 NEX - we spent five hours here!!! Not out of choice... the upside down... Club life... We went to see this and I booked the wrong cinema... As returned from Chinatown... the construction at Ang Mo Kio - Marymout, in full swing Dim Sum in Chinatown Yum Cha... Jac found a baby roach on the table It did smell very roachy... sort of like the cinemas of old... may not have been aired for years. Chinatown - Smith St Chinatown Point... we spent awhile walking around Yesterday was the first day I managed to get the sleep schedule sorted properly... that is EXACTLY one week since we arrived... well we arrived at 4.30 pm last Friday... and we have done so much but also nothing at all. 11.7.24 - Tanjong Pagar et al

Obligatory 6 am hang at RK ... with Gary...    Ghin sketches The view!! PS cafe... the only thing that remains of the Blood Brothers shop - the only shop I would buy stuff from... You can tell how rich you are by how much greenery... natural greenery surrounds you... Palms of every shade and hue are found... especially in the Botanic Gardens The Russian Embassy along Nassim Road. Don't think it gets more Cold War chic than this. Peak Seah Street The mix of history and contemporary This temple was established in 1905. By a monk who saw emigres die alone... he set this up for them so they would be cared for. Here is the Azure Dragon... I do suddenly feel very clever being able to tell what the symbols are on the Chinese temples...  Peak Seah Street... one day, all this will fade away... it has to... A real life v...

10.7.24 - Day 5: Same holiday

Haji Maimunah Le Pool An Linn Mé An leabhar agus peann Ithean sé ramen agus muceoil Yesterday was very chilled but also incredibly productive. We got the club and the cards done. And then we got the filofax inserts in Kinokuya. BUT I also got a Princess Mononoke folder and yes, stationery do be my Achilles Heel... it's bad. Because you can ALWAYS justify stationery. I also finished reading the Atlantis lectures by the pool. I always knew it, but I REALLY UNDERSTOOD IT, how much our education in Steiner was a mystery school traditional and teachers teach accordingly. We are challenged to come to grips with the curriculum and therefore also journey with the children to discover human evolution.  What else can I talk about? This morning, Ghin and I talked about the universe and how incredible it was living on the planet Earth. How was all this possible? Ghin then said, you have no idea how many times I have had th...

9.7.24 - Messing around in boat

Image
It has been a very chilled start to the holidays. Yesterday we were on Sentosa looking at this boat which was very lovely but kinda unnecessary. The more I look at the life which people are supposed to envy, the less interested I am in it. But it was very nice to be on such a boat and I did enjoy it. Then it was one of the large malls for what we hoped with be oysters, but it turned out the oyster place had closed and we settled for uni sushi instead. Which as far as substitutes go, is pretty good. Then it was back here... and dinner with Ghin was Srisun again... the second time of the day for me. Then a quick nip around My Village for some bread and then back to the house. I've been reading Steiner's lecture series on Atlantis, which was very fashionable back in the day. Atlantis and Lemuria. The idea of this lost land was huge in the late 19th century and St...

8.7.24 - Dreaming about Atlantis

Image
I am reading Steiner's lectures on Atlantis. Of course I am. And I am unearthing some fascinating things. I have also decided that I have done sufficient research on Atlantis and that after this slim book, I am not going to research any more. Everything after this will be the writing of the book.  I have sprained my right foot, once again, so that's running out of the picture for the next few days. Which is super annoying. But nevermind. I have discovered the porch where I am now going to set up shop to read, to draw and to write. The weather has been very cool, despite it being July, on account of the incessant rain. This is no bad thing in Singapore. It means that the temperatures have been ideal. Very bearable. In the mid 20s, as opposed to the awful 30s. And the humidity means that everything is slightly moist, which I do love. Today, I extricate myself from the Singapore which I detest and I think I am finally become a true t...
