To love no matter what the cost

Our herb spiral is coming along beautifully
Each week the kids and i weed the herb spiral. As a result it is looking great. I hope to put down some gravel before i leave so that we don't have to worry too much about it while i am away.

I spend each day immersed in the world of the school. It is actually quite easy to forget there is life outside it. I was saying to a couple of people recently it is really important for me to not become smug because it is really easy to be smug. The truth is that everyone is on the journey which they have chosen and they are working in the life they have chosen. So what i do is right for me. Although on these dew laden June mornings when i walk into the school and am greeted with all this life and the fruit of the work we have put into the grounds as well as our classes, it is difficult not to feel that really it does not get better than this.

The garden shed
The school's policy is really to make sure that the areas which need to be looked after are looked after and the areas that are wild are left to go wild.

Here we have a bank of comfrey
In the bad old days this excess of comfrey was thought to be not great. Now we know that the plant is fab for bees. Steiner actually has a whole lecture series on bees. The ancient goddesses were also associated with bees. Bees were the symbol of the goddess herself. Comfrey is also great for the soil, fertiliser, eating, bones, skin and nettle stings.

It is fascinating doing Mira. Of course she was dedicated to Krishna and Krishna is life incarnate. The god of sustaining and only love can sustain us. As i was walking with another friend back from Forest School we were talking about life. Each of us faces our own set of unique challenges and we were talking about i suppose we were talking about spirituality. I said to her, you know after spending several years as an atheist, a position that i was not entirely comfortable with, but also not happy with organised religion and the position they occupied, i am now in a place where i am able to be entire comfortable with saying that we have a spiritual body and that spiritual unseen part of us is eternal. That bit never dies. It is also perfect and when we have done with this life we will cross the threshold and take what we have learned in this life back with us… and so it goes. I can feel that in my bones and that makes me really happy. The other thing i have also come to really sense and understand more and more is that the most important thing is that we need to love no matter what the cost. All this challenges which come our way, if we are able to continue loving we will grow. We must never lose faith in love. It is the only thing with will sustain us.

It is what keeps us free, defines us as uniquely human. When we stop loving we become less than human.

So this week there was a feeling of recovery. I cannot explain it beyond i felt quite mended. I felt at the start of it a realisation, something became very obvious. Something became very clear and in this clarity  there was quite a lot of sorrow, but also release. I think that an aspect of sadness of me is the asking of a sacrifice i have been unwilling to make. In this sacrifice, this acceptance, there was a feeling of letting go and healing. Also i have realised that because the universe has my back i need not worry. But still i am human and being patient with myself is one of the lessons i too have to learn.
