The Disgusting Ballad of T Mobile

This reflects as badly on me as it does on T Mobile, so i am not judging them. BUT here dear reader are the facts.

I stopped being a T Mobile customer more than a year ago and became an O2 one, because the T Mobile coverage was crap. You could not get signals where you should be getting signals, so i thought feck that.

Two MONTHS ago i got my finances in order. As in i looked at my directed debits and horror of horrors, i found out that my direct debit with T Mobile for a £30 a month contract was still being direct debited from my account. That meant they owed me more than £400. I was utterly disgusted at myself and them, and so i did what any right thinking person would have done. I resolved to get back the £400 and then cancelled my direct debit.

Yesterday i received a letter telling me i owed them £61.62. So i called them and Lisa in Team 117 told me:

“Oh i know what you have done, you did not call and cancel using the PAC code.”

“But Carphone Warehouse set it all up for me.”

“Well you are supposed to do it yourself.”

“Well nobody told me about it. Can i cancel it now.”

“No, you have to pay your remaining bill and then you can cancel it.”

You can imagine that i was apoplectic with something much stronger than rage. I was also threatened with being referred to the debt collectors and that it would affect my credit ratings. To which i wanted to say, you dozy mare, i have never needed credit in my life, so suck on that.

But instead i said, i am going to call the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Ombudsman. I also said, this is why i left T Mobile because you have such poor customer service.

And the naffest ads.

And guess what, i don’t CARE if i go to jail over this, because i so will. If i become the Henry Thoreau of the mobile phone mafia, i become she. Bunch of exploitative tossers.
