Ang Mo Kio mall

At some stage, probably on Day 2, we decided to go and see the Sorcerer's Apprentice. So it was the AMK Mall, of course. This is a beast of a shopping mall in the middle of a Singaporean 'heartland', filled with shops and sucking the life out of the rest of the town centre. No, i jest. Singapore seems to be filled to the brim with people who are constantly shopping.

Ghin and Aurelia stand in front of a sign promoting 10 minute haircuts for 10 bucks. You wait until the light turns green and then sit on the chair. It's all out in the open, and everyone who walks past gets a good look at you. It's like the street barbers in the old days, but this time it's indoor. Like the mall has become the street.

This is a GREAT photo of the Mama, Kong Kong and three eldest grandchildren. Pa is just so proud of all of them. It is so touching.

Oisin tries to not get run over by Thomas. Thomas is now very big in Singapore. He's EVERYWHERE.

The CRAZY train drivers.

Here's a Snoopy childride. When i was young these things were very smelly and highly suspect in hygiene terms. Today they are spotless.

Behind them are rows and rows of tuition centres, all promising to make your child pass exams betterer. There is also a golfing centre for children. This is all very typical in Singapore where children are pushed to get really good grades.

Outside the cinema were around twenty of these stuffed toys machines. You know the kind that has a grabber and you try and grab the toy you want. They looked so amazing.

And mesmerizing...

And entertaining...

You get a mentos as a consolation prize just in case.

The Sanrio rabbit...with its demented smile.

Minnie mouse, the brown version.

Aurelia, practising for her future in pachinko parlours.

It's a JOKE Jac....

The Mamasan....

Waiting for the film to start. This was Aurelia's first time EVER at the movies!!
